Major Projects - Joint Cavern Development at Anderson Road Quarry Site - Joint Cavern Development at Anderson Road Quarry Site - Project Number: 7851CL & 5792CL Brief Description of Project Scope: 7851CL - Relocation of Public Works Central Laboratory to caverns The scope of 7851CL comprise – (a) construction of a cavern complex and connection adits of about 6 000 square metres (m 2 ) in area and about 160 000 cubic metres in total volume inside the mountain body of Tai Sheung Tok at the Anderson Road Quarry Development site; (b) construction of a 3-storey Public Works Central Laboratory (PWCL) inside caverns and at the portal (about 2 000 m 2 in site area), including its structure and foundation, building services as well as furniture and equipment; (c) demolition of the existing PWCL Building in Kowloon Bay; and (d) other related works, including landscaping works. 5792CL - Building of Government Records Service's Archives Centre in caverns The scope of 5792CL comprise – (a) construction of a cavern complex and connection adits of about 6 500 square metres (m 2 ) in area and about 190 000 cubic metres in total volume inside the mountain body of Tai Sheung Tok at the Anderson Road Quarry Development site; (b) construction of a 3-storey Archives Centre inside caverns and a 4-storey building at the portal (about 2 000 m 2 in site area), including its structure and foundation, building services, automated storage and retrieval systems as well as furniture and equipment; and (c) other related works, including landscaping works.
