The notice on the authorisation of the sewerage scheme was gazetted today (July 9). The sewerage scheme comprises the following: (i) construction of about 2 000 metres of gravity sewers and associated manholes; and (ii) ancillary works including temporary closure and reinstatement of carriageways, footpaths, central medians/refuge islands, pier and open spaces or parts thereof. Construction works for the scheme will be carried out by the Civil Engineering and Development Department in conjunction with the road works for the boardwalk underneath Island Eastern Corridor. Details of the sewerage scheme were published in the Government Gazette on December 31, 2020, and January 8, 2021.
