CEDD to gauge public views on design options for Cross Bay Link, Tseung Kwan O (with photos) CEDD to gauge public views on design options for Cross Bay Link, Tseung Kwan O (with photos) *********************************************************** The Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD) will hold an exhibition on six bridge design options for the Cross Bay Link (CBL) in Tseung Kwan O (TKO) from March 11 to 17 and conduct a survey to gauge public views on these design options to help select the final design. The proposed CBL is a bridge spanning TKO Bay with dual two-lane carriageway, cycle track and footpath. The main span section in the middle portion of the CBL will be designed as a feature bridge to become the landmark of TKO. The Stage 1 public engagement activities and the Design Ideas Invitation Event ended in 2009. From the opinions and innovative ideas collected, the project consultants have developed six design options for the bridge. The Government will carry out detailed technical assessments of these design options and take into account the public views collected when selecting the final design. Each of the six design options has a particular theme, namely "The Bow", "Link with Wings", "The Sail", "Alliance Bridge", "Eternity Arch" and "The Gateway". Four of these design options evolved from the winning entries of the Design Ideas Invitation Event. The CEDD will conduct a survey to gauge public views on these design options. Survey forms will be distributed to visitors at the exhibition venues. The form is also available for download from the CBL website ( www.cbl-tko.hk ). Completed forms can be returned to the collection box at the exhibition venues or by post to the New Territories East Development Office, CEDD, at Suite 1213 Chinachem Golden Plaza, No 77 Mody Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, before March 24.  Details of the exhibition venues are as follows: March 11 (Thursday) V  March 14 (Sunday) ----------------------------------------- Time              Exhibition Venues 8am V 10pm       Kin Choi Community Hall, Kin Ming Estate, Tiu Keng Leng 10am V 10pm      G/F Exhibition Area, Park Central, Po Shun Road 10am V 10pm      1/F Exhibition Area, The Edge, Tong Chun Street March 15 (Monday) V March 17 (Wednesday) ------------------------------------------ Time              Exhibition Venues 7am V 10pm       Exit B Exhibition Area, Hang Hau MTR Station 10am V 10pm      2/F Exhibition Area, Metro City Plaza III, Po Lam The CEDD and the project consultants will hold a public briefing at 8pm on March 11 at Kin Choi Community Hall, Tiu Keng Leng, to introduce to the public details of different design options and the survey.
