Tenders invited for Tung Chung New Town Extension - Reclamation and Advance Works Go to main content Brand HK | Font Size: | Sitemap Tenders invited for Tung Chung New Town Extension - Reclamation and Advance Works Tenders invited for Tung Chung New Town Extension - Reclamation and Advance Works ********************************************************************************* The Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD) today (June 30) invited tenders for the contract for Tung Chung New Town Extension - Reclamation and Advance Works. The works mainly comprise: * reclamation of the seabed by a non-dredged method at Tung Chung East to form a total of about 130 hectares of land; * construction of about 4.9 kilometres of seawalls with an eco-shoreline, three drainage box culvert outfalls, three circulation drains and a seawater intake; * construction of a multi-cell drainage box culvert of about 470 metres in length at Tung Chung East; * provision of infrastructure for Tung Chung Area 58, including construction of a single two-lane road (with a footpath) of about 270m in length and the associated utility works; and * associated environmental mitigation measures. The works are scheduled to commence in end-2017 and will take about 69 months to complete. Interested contractors may obtain the tender forms and other particulars from the Hong Kong Island and Islands Development Office, Civil Engineering and Development Department, at 13/F, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point. The invitation to tender was gazetted today. The closing time for the tender is noon on September 8.
